Strategic Master Planning
- Where do we want to be in ten years?
- What changes need to happen to get us there?
- How can we develop a roadmap to facilitate success at each milestone along the way?
Strategic Master Planning and the creation of a project management office, or PMO, is critical to ensure that the project has a shared set of milestones, that those milestones are communicated to all involved parties, and that the roles and responsibilities of everyone involved is understood.
A typical supply chain implementation project can involve multiple disciplines including land acquisition and negotiation, site planning and development, building design and construction, material handling design and integration, systems design and specification, system testing and start-up, inventory, finance and accounting, and labor force acquisition and ramp up, to name a few. It is crucial that an integrated plan is in place and that each sub team has a detailed work plan with shared milestones that can be tracked and reported on. The PMO helps to coordinate and orchestrate all activities so that there is cross functional communication as well as upward communication to stakeholders and steering committees.
Peach State provides expert level assistance, either as the owner of the PMO implementation process or as the expert trainer to assist your staff in project readiness.
