Peach State Integrated Technologies’ Executives Barry Webb and Wayne Lewis to address ProMat 2009

(ATLANTA) December 12, 2008 – Peach State Integrated Technologies is proud to announce that senior executives Barry Webb and Wayne Lewis will address the Material Handling Industry of America’s (MHIA) ProMat 2009 trade show, which will be held January 12-15, 2009 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.

Barry Webb, Senior Director of Strategic Services at Peach State Integrated Technologies, will deliver a seminar called “The Great Balancing Act -  Distribution Network Configuration” on Monday, January 12th, , 2009 from 4:00-4:45 PM in Theater F. This presentation defines distribution network modeling and the reasons companies undertake network design initiatives.  The presentation will also explore the cost factors to consider, the types of data necessary, as well as the approach, timing, and benefits of network modeling.  In addition to providing real life examples of successful network designs, Mr. Lewis will address the impact of corporate income tax, an area often overlooked in a successful network designs.

Mr. Webb has over 23 years of experience in performing strategic supply chain projects including automated distribution center design and installation, distribution network strategy development, business process design, warehouse management systems (WMS) design and implementation and complex project program management. Prior to joining Peach State, Mr. Webb held senior management consulting positions with IBM, PWC Consulting and Accenture. In addition, Mr. Webb served as an Industrial Engineer for several years with The Walt Disney World Company and EuroDisney Paris, supporting the distribution of Merchandise, Food & Beverage, General Supplies, Costuming, Maintenance, and Fireworks to the Theme Parks, Resort Hotels, and Golf Courses.

Wayne Lewis, Project Director at Peach State Integrated Technologies, will conduct the seminar “The Science and Economics of Successful DC Design” on Tuesday, January 13th, 2009 from 2:30 – 3:15 pm in Theater F. This educational session walks participants through an objective, systematic, and tested approach to designing distribution operations. The principal objective of the session is to help attendees make sound decisions when evaluating distribution network design alternatives. Five basic steps of this methodology will be discussed: problem formulation, data collection and analysis, requirements definition, alternate evaluation and solution generation. Particular attention will be given to developing a comprehensive economic evaluation of the solution alternatives and the incremental costs associated with equipment, space, systems, processes and people.

Since joining the company in 1999, Mr. Lewis has successfully completed numerous supply chain projects for a variety of clients. Mr. Lewis has over 13 years of hands-on, operations management experience. Prior to joining Peach State, Mr. Lewis served as General Manager for Exel Logistics. He also previously worked with Datex-Ohmeda, where he managed the integration of an automated storage and retrieval system into existing warehouse processes and information systems. At Peach State, Mr. Lewis develops distribution network and order fulfillment solutions for clients in healthcare, retail, consumer products, parts distribution and many other industry verticals. His key areas of focus include data analysis and profiling, network modeling and design, methods and process improvement, picking strategies, storage planning and conceptual design alternatives.
